Attorney Chris Connally and family runs 5Ks benefitting animal welfare here and abroad

In May, Chris Connally and his family ran in the Big Cat Race Series: Stacy Konwiser Save the Tigers 5K at Dreher Park and the Palm Beach Zoo.

With fewer than 250 Malayan tigers remaining in the wild, proceeds from the event support the Palm Beach Zoos partnership with the Wildlife Conservation Society at Endau Rompin National Park in Malaysia. The organizations work to protect the tigers and their habitat.

“It would be a tremendous loss to see this beautiful animals decimated into extinction,” Connally said.

This isn’t the first animal welfare 5K the Connallys have supported this year. In April, The Connallys, along with their Goldendoodle Princess, ran the Palm Beach County Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue 5K. The Connally family had previously adopted a dog through the Palm Beach County-based rescue organization.

The event at John Prince Park benefitted local homeless dogs and cats. The Justin Bartlett Animal Rescue is the largest foster-based animal rescue in Palm Beach County. The group saves an average of 1,000 animals each year and runs two adoption shuttles in Palm Beach County.

“We need to teach our kids the importance of animal preservation at every level, whether cats and dogs or Malaysian tigers.”
